The Lace Trend
The lace trend this year is pretty much just a continuation of last year's trend that was popularly known as 'Underwear on the Outside'. The aim of this trend and its suggestive name was to give women the opportunity to tastefully wear clothes with a sexy underwear hint to them with elegance and the main ingredient to this was the lace!
Whether it was a layer of light lace over a light material, lace cuffs, lace sleeves or lace scarves and necklaces it was lace pandamonium and this year will be no different!
This year the trend has not lost any of its suggestive, sexy feel and will more than likely be just as huge as the bohemian trend that's blossoming too.
* Remember that it's not just limited to little black dresses or even just dresses! There are lace details on tops, cardigans, shrugs, skirts, shoes, handbags, jewellery, belts of all sorts even socks!
So don't be afraid to try different ways to carry this trend in your outfits everyday!
The Crochet Trend
Because of the bohemian and 70's influences on this year's Spring and Summer fashions a very different and brilliant type of style and material has been used on the catwalks and runways of the fashion world and that is Crochet!
Crochet is a process of fabric from yarn using a crochet hook. And some random facts about Crochet is that the first crochet pattern appeared in the Dutch magazine Pénélopé in 1824. And in the 19th century facing the Great Irish Famine Crochet lace work was introduced as a famine relief as an alternative way of making money for the impoverished Irish workers.
I personally don't like this look in a full dress but in a cardigan or shrug the detail of the crochet weave can finish off any outfit.
More stuff in the next post! I'm so sorry I'm kind of busy so I'll post more another time!
Enjoy Spring and Summer!
