Colour Blocking

Colour Blocking!

Colour Blocking is for the brave, bold and confident!
It has been a large trend on the runways this season and is when you take 2 0r 3 different colours and wear them all together!

Orange - Hot pink - Greens - Gold - Blues - yellows - purples - silvers - white - greys - even the darkest black! These are all colours used to achieve the colour blocking look.

As you can see the look is very striking and uses clashing to its advantage!
It takes someone pretty brave to pull of this wild look!

My favourite is the orange with purple look!
< In this picture the model in the second box from the left on the top is wearing warm toned orange and purple and it just looks lovely and warm! - I love the sort of rusty look to the orange!

Reminds of :

The 70's Because of how striking and bold it is! During the 70's a lot of the clothes seemed mad, wild and very unique! It was a time of a lot of self expression which often went well but other times did not!

But that is also one of the things about this look!
It is important to wear colours of similar tones, for example you would not wear:

Cold toned pink with :
an extremely deep warm toned blue

and warm toned trousers like in the picture above : the model in the bottom left is wearing colours whose tones clash heavily and it is barely over look only because the catwalk may sometimes produce pure madness that is accepted because it is pure raw expression:

It is the raw, fresh trend that has not yet been watered down to suit high street shops and to suit the everyday person.

So remember even though on the catwalk they can clash tones here and there, you really shouldn't..... Unless of course you want to stand out a lot.
The typical season we can expect to see this trend in, in the future:

Next year if this trend returns which i predict it will because of how it offers the opportunity to use bright and bold colours;
then I am sure it will return for the Spring and Summer just like this year!

This Trend is very beautiful when done right but it is one of the hardest things to acheive!

So remember!

Match your warm tones with warm tones and your cold tones with your cold tones just like with make up!

Enjoy!
